-Rigging carabiner for strength and ease of handling: Rigging carabiners are used at critical connection points in rigging and anchor systems. They are built to be strong, and have large gate openings, internal volumes, and extended rope baskets. This makes them easier to handle with gloves on, and allows them to accommodate thick ropes, and multiple knots or slings.

-Klettersteig carabiner for ease of handling: Klettersteig carabiners are wide, maximising gate opening and the internal working volumes for ease of use with gloves, thick ropes, and wide webbing. They also encourage loading in their strongest orientation by forcing loads toward the carabiner spine.

-Large gate opening and high internal volume for easy handling and more attachment options: The gate opening is the distance between the nose of a carabiner and the gate when it is fully opened. Larger gate openings make a carabiner easier to use while wearing gloves, and with thick ropes and slings. Internal volume refers to the area inside a carabiner, and large internal volumes mean easier attachment and removal of multiple devices, knots and slings.

-Taperlock nose gives high push-in strength: The nose design on these carabiners helps them resist shearing forces and achieve high side loading strength ratings. Taperlock is an evolution of our Keylock design, which gives a clean internal profile that prevents snagging on gear, bolts and slings

-I-Beam construction for optimum strength to weight ratio: I-Beam construction techniques allow carabiners to be lighter without compromising strength. This is achieved through hot forging, a process which allows metal to be made into complex shapes that improve functionality

Description

The Klettersteig is the largest and strongest rigging alloy carabiner in our range. It has a massive internal volume and a very large (25mm) gate opening that makes clipping ropes and wide slings easy, while the long top bar means the biner can accommodate multiple attachments and knots. A 30kN major axis strength and very strong minor axis and gate open strengths make the Klettersteig a reliable component in a rescue or heavy-duty rigging system.
As a key part of our rigging range the Klettersteig is also offered with the option of being built with an Anti-Vibrate gate.
The carabiner comes as standard with a matt grey anodised finish, but can also be supplied with a matt black anodised finish or with more specialist Ceracote finishes in a range of tactical colours from artic white to desert coyote. The Ceracote coatings are also available with a reduced IR signature.
